Guardiola has his toughest task… he MUST add world class players to Man City – Hamann

first_imgManchester City will provide the biggest test of Pep Guardiola’s managerial career. That’s the view of Dietmar Hamann, with the former City star claiming the Spaniard will need to bring in a host of star names to turn the club into European giants.Guardiola, who has won multiple major trophies with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, will replace Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium in the summer.“He has probably got a bigger task at Manchester City than he did have at Barcelona and Bayern Munich,” said ex-Germany international Hamann, speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.“It is great for the Premier League, great for English football and even better for Manchester city they have got their man – and now let’s see if he can produce.“They need a few more players because at the moment they are behind the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Barcelona.“They have got a manager now that can attract the top players. With City in recent years they have brought in some very, very good players but I don’t think they have got enough game-changers and enough world class players.“If you look at the world class players, you can make a case for Kompany, Aguero and maybe Silva but that is where it stops. If you go to Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, they have got seven, eight or nine of these.”last_img
