The eighth edition of the KiiT-IS Model United Nations (MUN) was inaugurated on August 10, 2019. Students from various schools of the country and abroad, representing the member countries of UN, discussed and debated on burning issues of the world during the three-day submit from August 10 – 12.This year, keeping in mind the response to the MUN, the Organising Committee, comprising mostly of students from the international baccalaureate diploma program, opened ten councils instead of the usual six to justify the relevance of various national and global issues, keeping the sustainable development goals in mind, with a special council on climate change. Another key aspect of the theme is inclusivity. Over 700 student delegates from 50 schools across India attended the programme. Besides, student delegates from five countries also joined the MUN. At the event, the staff of the school including Dr Sanjay Suar, Principal, and Nandita Mishra, also addressed the guest students who joined the MUN. Prajwala Patil, was nominated as Secretary-General of KiiT International School Model United Nations. Keshav Gupta, representative of Dais, and executive Board member was also present at the venue to encourage delegation to make the most of this MUN experience. Ruhin Gharai, Deputy Secretary-General spoke about the sustainable development goals and role of youth in creating and adopting a sustainable way of life. The valedictory session of the MUN was held on August 12, 2019.
