Murder suspect charged after grandfather was stabbed to death

A man has been charged with murder after a grandfather was stabbed to death in broad daylight after a pint at his local pub. Gurjeet Singh Lall, 35, allegedly killed Allan Isichei, 69, as he walked home from the Plough Inn in Southall, west London, on August 26.Mr Isichei was a former Wasps rugby player and a keen jazz musician who regularly played at the venue. He was pronounced dead near the 17th century pub after emergency services arrived at 6.40pm. Singh Lall, of Ealing, west London, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder at Willesden Magistrates’ Court yesterday. The suspect was remanded in custody following a short hearing and is next due to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday. Detectives have appealed for more witnesses to come forward.    Want the best of The Telegraph direct to your email and WhatsApp?
